Abstract
Product liability law holds manufacturers, distributors, and sellers accountable for defective products that cause harm to consumers. This paper examines the complexities of product liability, emphasizing the process from identifying defects to seeking legal remedies. It explores the three primary defect categories—manufacturing, design, and failure to warn—while analysing their relevance under strict liability, negligence, and warranty breach claims. Additionally, the discussion highlights key legal precedents, common defences for manufacturers, and the impact of consumer protection laws. With the expansion of global supply chains, differing legal standards and jurisdictional issues add to the challenges of product liability litigation. By understanding these issues, businesses can implement risk-reduction strategies, and consumers can better protect their rights. Ultimately, this study sheds light on the ongoing efforts to ensure corporate responsibility while safeguarding consumer interests in product liability law.
